Samira Ghorbani, PhD
Assistant Professor
Department of Biology, University of Toronto Mississauga
Department of Immunology, University of Toronto

Dr. Samira Ghorbani earned her Ph.D. in immunology, specializing in the immunopathogenesis of multiple sclerosis with a focus on microRNA research. During her postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Ghorbani focused on overcoming inhibitors in MS lesions to enhance tissue repair and remyelination.   Now as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, her research explores the intricate relationship between the extracellular matrix, immune system, and glial cell of the central nervous system to discover new therapeutic targets to promote remyelination, particularly in the context of aging.
